LIVE AND IN PERSON.

Yeah, I know, there are a million photos out there and you’ve seen them all. But we went out on the 7 on Sunday, for the first time in, well, forever, taking friends out for dim sum in Flushing, and then a trip to the Unisphere and the Queens Museum.

Let me tell you, you can see as many photos as you like. It’s a LOT different in person.

They’re knocking through the seating areas now. Field level is gone. Loge is gone. Mezzanine is just starting to be knocked through, as is the overhang on the upper deck.

The photos aren’t great, but I didn’t have my zoom, and wasn’t going to make it into a project today. If it had just been me and TBF, we probably would have done a full circle to see whatever we could see, but we had friends along from out of town who were not exactly going to be thrilled about slogging through parking lots and construction sites on a futile circumnambulation of Shea. However, this probably means a trip back out for us in the coming weeks to do just that.

We got off at Willetts Point in order to take them to the Panorama of the City Of New York at the Queens Museum. The last time they updated it was in the 90′s, and I doubt they have plans to do so in the very near future. But just in case they did, I wanted a shot of Shea:

(If you have never seen the Panorama, I highly recommend it.)
